Fried Cassava

Yuca (Cassava) is a very rich starch native to South America and popular throughout Latin American cuisine. Versatile and delicious, this Fried Yuca recipe with slaw healthy side dish that simple to prepare.

Ingredients

  • Yucca
  • Cabbage
  • Your preferred sauce

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Remove the yuca from the bag and wash in water. Add yuca in a pot with  2 cups, water and 1 tbsp of salt and let it to boil  for about 25 minutes until the cooked and soft. Cut yuca into 4 pieces (longer chunks) 

 

Step 2

To create the slaw chop half of purple or green cabbage, carrots and peppers into thin slices, add salt and pepper for taste 

Step 3

Add oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is sizzling add yucca (cassava) for 4-5 minutes cooking each side until golden.  

Step 4

Serve the fried yuca, serve the slaw and Rio Grande pupusa red sauce over yuca. To top it off, adding a little chopped cilantro on top for flavor and Enjoy!!
